"Liebe Mutter! Hiermit gebe ich ein etwas verspätetes Lebenszeichen von mir. Bin wohlbehalten hier angelangt. Gleich den ersten Abend war Concert. Die Lackstiefel zwickten mich schändlich, besonders der linke, ich zieh sie heute gewiß nicht an. Sonst geht es mir gut. Zur Arbeit bin ich noch nicht gekommen, auch nicht so recht zum Schlafen, immer nur essen und trinken und wieder essen. Noch immer habe ich schlechte Träume, besonders die erste Nacht. Morgen will ich ernstlich arbeiten …".
