Description St Thomas Street, Southwark. Founded in 1704 by Thomas Guy. Designed by Sir Thomas Dance from 1721, the East Wing was added in 1738-41 by James Steere after Dance's death in 1733 and the West Wing was added in 1774-7 by R Jupp Junior who also added the the stone-faced frontispiece.
