Description
Deutsch: Räumliche Struktur und Gebäudeplan (1965 - 2019) im Vergleich zum Masterplan des IIT - Campus in Chicago von Mies v.d. Rohe (ab 1940). Während das "Technology Center of Tomorrow" aus einer Addition von Solitären besteht, schafft die Konfiguration der ineinandergreifenden Baukörper des Architekten J. Hammerstein (1965-1967) im Zusammenwirken mit der Topographie und der Landschaftsgestaltung von H. Raderschall ein komplexes Raum- und Wahrnehmungsgefüge. Der Gebäudekomplex hätte schon längst unter Denkmalschutz gestellt werden sollen.
English: Spatial structure and building plan (1965 - 2019) compared to the masterplan of Chicago`s IIT - Campus by Mies v. d. Rohe (from 1940). While the "Technology Center of Tomorrow" consists of an addition of pure objects, the configuration of architect J. Hammerstein`s interlocking structures (1965-1967) in conjunction with the topography and landscape design of H. Raderschall creates a complex structure of space and perception. The building complex should have been listed long time ago.
