Summary[edit]

Description
English: For our #TBT today, this day in 1790, Rhode Island became the 13th U.S. state, the last of the original colonies to ratify the Constitution. To say, "thanks," here's a picture of rock...........we can tell you're overly excited. This photo is actually a perched glacial boulder made of Hope Valley Alaskite Gneiss resting on an outcrop of the same lithology on an island in northwest part of Yawgoog Pond, Hopkinton, Rhode Island. Here we see USGS field assistant, Robin C. Lease, posing for scale, taken in July 13, 1962 by T.G. Feininger.
