Description
English: Image of two facing pages with colored plate on left and text on right. Plate depicts the head and neck of a Black man. Bell did not give this poignant plate a title. The "sketch" in Bell’s own words, is from "the head of [a] black [showing] the most common and regular distribution of the branches of the carotid artery." "Drawings," pl. 4.
