Description
Deutsch: Heinrich Maximilian Imhof: Miriam oder Die Musik. Klassizistische Rundplastik der biblischen Prophetin Miriam auf runder Plinthe, Marmor, quaderförmiger Steinsockel, lebensgroß, bezeichnet: „HEINR. IMHOF. FEC. ROMA 1859“, Entstehungsjahr 1859, ursprünglich: Stuttgart, Villa Berg, unteres Vestibül, nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg: Stuttgart, Städtisches Lapidarium, heute: Stuttgart, Staatsgalerie, Rotunde (als Leihgabe des Städtischen Lapidariums). Erhaltungszustand: gut, jedoch fehlen Fingerglieder an der rechten Hand. Beim Auszug aus Ägypten führte Mirjam nach der Durchquerung des Schilfmeers den Freudentanz und den Gesang der Frauen an. Die Statue zeigt eine tamburinschlagende Tänzerin mit klassischem Profil und in antiker Gewandung, jedoch verhüllt sie ihre Lockenpracht züchtig mit einem Tuch.
