Title
Helix, v.1, no.8, Jul. 27, 1967
Description

Cover: Cartoon of U District scenes (McKinistry?). Articles discuss Ellensburg's intolerance for hippies (page 2); the Vietnam War (page 5); Freedom Patrols (page 6); and the Doors concert at Seattle's Eagles Auditorium (page 11). An interview with Jerry Garcia is also included on page 10.

Continuation of ad from previous page shows "City Center Joffrey Experimental Ballet" as an additional act for the Moby Grape/Jimi Hendrix show at Eagles Auditorium. According to the Wayne Johnson, "Opus 65. Joffrey Ballet Swings at Show", Seattle Times, August 3, 1967, p. 35, the Joffrey group performed a 20-minute piece, with Seattle band Crome Syrcus playing their own arrangement of music by Teo Macero. The times article makes no mention of Hendrix, so he may have cancelled; they mention light shows by Lux Sit and Dance and the Lighter Than Air Corps, and further music by the Time Machine, as well as Moby Grape, but there is no mention of Hendrix.
