English: Henri Lehmann, Femmes près de l'eau (also known as Les baigneuses—les filles de la source), oil on canvas, 67 x 86.5 cm. (26.4 x 34.1 in.), private collection. The original painting, exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1842 and acquired for the Belgian royal collection, burned in a fire at the Chateau de Laeken in the 1890s; this reprise of the composition surfaced on the Paris art market and was auctioned in 2007.[1][2] |
