Notes | Maria Tuke Sainsbury (18611947) was Henry Scott Tuke's only, younger sister. She was born in Falmouth, Cornwall where the family had moved from York in 1859, and was educated at Quaker School in Reigate. She was also a talented artist like her older brother but sadly was prevented from continuing her art education at the Slade School in London, by their parents. She went on to marry Dr. Harrington Sainsbury in 1889 and had four children. | |||||||||||||||||||||
