Русский: Иллюстрация из Еврейской энциклопедии Брокгауза и Ефрона (1906—1913). Ге́рцель Я́нкелевич Цам (25 января [6 февраля] 1842[1], местечко Горинград Волынской губернии — 1915, Томск) — российский офицер, еврейский общественный деятель; кантонист, капитан императорской армии.
Deutsch: Illustration Brockhaus and Efron Enzyklopädie (1906-1913) - Herzel Jankel Zam, wahrscheinlich einziger jüdischer Offizier im Russischen Reich des 19. Jahrhunderts. Im Alter von 17 Jahren trat er als Kantonist in die Kaiserlich Russische Armee ein. Nach einer Dienstzeit von 41 Jahren avancierte er zum Hauptmann. Trotz erheblicher Einflussnahme von außen konvertierte er nie zur Staatsreligion des Russisch-Orthodoxen Christentums.

This work was published on territory of the Russian Empire (Russian Republic) except for territories of the Grand Duchy of Finland and Congress Poland before 7 November 1917 and wasn't re-published for 30 days following initial publications on the territory of Soviet Russia or any other countries.
