Description
Attic Late geometric krater. On the main zone is depicted ekfora (carrying out of the body to the grave) of the deceased on a carriage, around which are women mourners and men withs swords (upper tier). Lower stage: a procession of chariots pulled by three horses, foot soldiers (lower tier). From the Dipylon. By the Hirschfeld Painter workshop, ca 750-735 BCE. The Met, Accession Number: 14.130.14.
