Summary
[edit]DescriptionHirundo rustica with nest.jpg |
English: This is a photograph of a small bird called a Barn Swallow. The bird in flight is a parent of the recently hatched babies in the nest. The nest is made of mud, twigs, and other odds and ends, and is under the front porch of a suburban house. Like most homes, the front door opens and closes throughout the day. The little family gets a bit annoyed, but they do nothing more than flap about harmlessly and chirp as people and pets come and go. There is a mutual understanding among those who dwell at this estate. Texas, USA.
In the upper left corner of the porch is the nest of a mud dobber. To the lower left is the edge of the porch light. The photograph was taken in the evening. I took this photograph. You are welcome to use it. Sarum blue 01:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC) |
