Description
Français : Inscription : Girard de Lappe, jardinier, y possédait des terrains en 1635. Dès le XVIIe siècle, menuisiers et ébénistes s'y établirent. Attires par la liberté du commerce au faubourg Saint-Antoine, les auvergnats s'y regroupèrent à la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Ils exerçaient les métiers de chaudronniers, de ferblantiers et de marchands de parasols. Au XIXe siècle, les boutiques étaient tenues par des ferrailleurs, des brocanteurs et des marchands de vins. Des bals auvergnats s'ouvrirent où l'on dansait la bourrée, au son du musette. Même après le remplacement de cet instrument par l'accordéon, le nom de bals musettes leur resta. La rue en comptait une quinzaine et la tradition se poursuit de nos jours avec le Balajo.
