| Description |
English: Built in 1862, this Gothic Revival-style building was constructed to house the congregation of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, replacing an earlier stone church that still stands to the rear of the present building. The building features a red brick exterior, gothic arched stained glass windows, buttresses at the corners and side facades, a rough-hewn stone base, pressed metal trim, a sculpture of the Holy Family in a niche above the front door in a blind arched opening with a small rose window, a belfry with louvers, four clock faces, and four gables, a spire terminating in a gilded cross, and a one-story shed-roof ell on the rear of the church building. The building is a contributing structure in the Oldenburg Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. |
