Summary[edit]

This European hornet caught some other insect just while I was shooting pictures. The hornet is out of focus (the whole scene lasted some 10 seconds), but the contrast in size with the 1cm+ hoverfly (a bee mimic) is obvious.

Deze Hoornaar kwam aanvliegen en nam net een ander insect te pakken terwijl ik wat foto's stond te maken. De hoornaar is helaas onscherp (het tafereeltje duurde maar 10 seconde), maar het contrast in afmeting met de zweefvlieg van 1cm+ geheel rechts is wel duidelijk.
