Summary
[edit]DescriptionHorizontemp.jpg |
English: This thermograph was taken on July 18 just after midnight. The air temperature is 25 degrees Celsius and the Dew point was indicated at 24 Degrees. However the temperature of the air is not relevant in infrared radiation.
The warm air directly above the water indicates the formation of dew in the air which releases heat and warms the air close to the surface. This is a normal pattern in infrared in a condensation situation. However please note that the horizon above the surface air is cooler and this will be the direction of thermal flow of the Infrared Radiation as dictated by the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Please also refer to the thermograph entitled Overhead whch gives the radiant absorbtion characteristics of the sky in direct line of sight to space. |
