Português: O arquiteto Francisco Santoro conta que o Hotel Municipal é um projeto eclético, que mistura diversos estilos como o grego, o romano, o Art Déco francês, entre outros.
"A maior parte dos prédios antigos de Araraquara pertencem a esse estilo. Quando o hotel ainda pertencia a parceria mista público/privada o gerente sempre me chamava para fazer reparos e sempre mantive suas características originais. Nos anos 80 pedimos o tombamento do local, que foi aprovado nos anos 90. Por conta disso, mesmo após sua venda para a iniciativa privada, a arquitetura original foi mantida". Chico ressalta ainda que além do próprio hotel, na esquina do prédio havia um bar com entrada da rua e de dentro do próprio prédio. "Era um bar muito estilo que se perdeu na década de 50. Aos depois, no mesmo lugar, abriu a boate Porão que era super famosa nos anos 60, além da tradicional barbearia e Café Municipal", conta. |
