Description
Français : Il fut bâti en 1586 par le trésorier des Etats de Provence Jean Guesnay, sur les anciens jardins créés par le Roi René au 15ème siècle. Il trouve son nom en 1612 dans sa vente à la veuve du Gouverneur de Provence, Gaspard de Pontevès, compte de Carcès. Sa porte de bois sculpté est remarquable. Une anecdote intervint lors du séjour du roi Loui XIV à Aix en 1660. les dames d'honneur d'Anne d'Autriche, mère du roi, y étaient logées. De mauvais esprits vinrent nuitamment transformer, sur la plaque du nom du bâtiment, le C en G. Le nom de l'hôtel en était ainsi changé et devenait un "Hôtel de Garces". La reine fut dit-on très mécontente au contraire du roi, très amusé.
