Description

Huddleston Hall, near Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire, England. It is a late 16th-century manor house, built with Huddleston Quarry stone for the Hungate family. On the site are the remains of a chapel built by Sir Richard Huddleston in 1296.

Families who have lived in former dwellings on this site include de Melsa, Grenefield, and Langton. The families occupying the present house include Hungate, Woodward and Wellborn. The Pears family lived there from 1945, and it is now primarily a farmhouse.
