Summary
[edit]DescriptionHugh Hornby Birley after 1819.jpg |
English: Oil portrait of en:w:Hugh Hornby Birley donated to the People’s History Museum in 2019. The portrait was believed to be made sometime after Birley gave the order for the en:w:Manchester and Salford Yeomanry to charge leading to the en:w:Peterloo Massacre of 16 August 1819. Portrait is certainly prior to Birley's death in 1845, and so this faithful reproduction is certainly out of copyright. |
