Summary
[edit]DescriptionHurdal Verk.jpg |
From 1755-1900 Hurdal Verk in Akershus was a glass works, for a long time the largest in Norway. In 1900 it was turned into a manor house, with parks and small lakes added to the property. This photo shows the old manor house from 1850 with the front facade and columns from 1905. Between 1929 and 1940 the manor house was used as a hotel, during the war as an orphanage for lebensborn and in 1945, when the war ended, it was turned into a folk high school - Hurdal Verk Folkehøgskole - which it has been ever since. |
