| Description |
In the foreground, the cover of the emergency antenna and in the background the normal transmission mast, whose function takes over the IBBK telescope antenna in case of destruction. The system was planned in the 70s under the name UKW 77 and implemented from 1980 on. The plant in the photo was built at the beginning of the 90s. In earlier times there were still mobile radio stations of the army on trucks called 'Grandmothers' by the soldiers. The future of this system is still open, but it is questioned, also because of the costs. This example shows how well Switzerland is prepared in relation to safety for all sorts of cases, and that should not be abandoned. Switzerland, Sep 29, 2018. (5/5) |
