Summary

[edit]
Description

Three racks of the IBM SP system, containing a varied set of nodes with POWER and POWER2 CPUs. They used a high-speed interconnect, called the "SP switch".

At the end is a spare frame for the ATL tape library that was used for Fortress, an HSM system that was used by researchers to archive data. The ATL library used DLT4000 tape drives (later upgraded to DLT7000) which stored 20GB native / 40GB compressed.
