Summary

[edit]
Description An infrared bar for monitoring mat temperature behind the paver was used as one of the technologies as part of a FHWA, Highways for LIFE (HfL) supported VTrans demonstration project to rehabilitate 3 segments of US 4A and VT 30 using innovative technologies. The contractor was trained in installing and using the system. The display screen allows temperatures to be monitored over the full width of the mat directly behind the paver before rolling and to allow revising truck loading-unloading.
