Description
Deutsch: IWL Pitty (1955)

In den späten 1940er Jahren boomten in Italien Motorroller‚ ab 1950 dann auch in der Bundesrepublik. Dieser Trend wurde auch in der DDR wahrgenommen. Die in Italien oder der Bundesrepublik gefertigten Motorroller waren in der DDR schwer oder gar nicht zu beschaffen. Anfangs lehnte die Staats- und Parteiführung eine eigene Motorroller-Produktion ab. Nach den Unruhen im Jahre 1953 stimmte sie ihr jedoch zu.

Der im VEB Industriewerke Ludwigsfelde gebaute Pitty leitete die Ära der DDR-Motorroller ein. Von 1955 bis 1956 entstanden ca. 11.000 Exemplare.
