English: This true-color image of Hurricane Ian was captured on the afternoon of September 28, 2022 at 3:06 P.M. (19:06 UTC), by the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) instrument flying aboard NOAA's GOES 16 satellite. At the time this was captured Ian was making landfall in Southwest Florida as a devasting Category 4 Major Hurricane with winds of 150 mph (240 km/h) (130 knots) on the 1-min Saffir-Simpson scale and a minimum central pressure of 941 mbar (27.8 inHg). |
