| Description |
Español: Esta majestuosa obra, fue construida entre los años de 1688 y 1796, es considerada el mejor templo que la arquitectura religiosa de la época dejara en Panamá. Su fachada muestra un equilibrio entre sus torres y la marcada horizontalidad de su portada, también el uso reiterado del arco de medio punto, juega lo mismo para los vanos de ingreso a las naves del templo que se duplica para utilizarse en las arcaizantes ventanas parteluz del coro; usándose también en los nichos, donde unas ajustadas esculturas de madera dan el sentido teológico a la portada. En sus altas torres se ubican las campanas trasladadas de la primitiva Catedral de Panamá la Vieja, con el chapitel de remate recubierto de un sinnúmero de conchas marinas, que proporcionan un marcado sabor regional a la catedral. Actualmente, en su espacio interior se visualiza un cuadro de escuela Sevillana, en proceso de restauración..-
