Iglesia de Santiago, A Coruña. Es la iglesia de Santiago el templo más antiguo de la ciudad. De estilo románico, se empezó a construir en la segunda mitad del siglo XII, aunque sufrió posteriores reconstrucciones. La antigua planta se desarrollaba en torno a tres naves y tres ábsides, siendo de importancia sus dos puertas laterales y la puerta occidental. Es en la fachada occodental donde encontramos la portada, formada por arcos apuntados, con la imagen de Santiago a caballo en el tímpano. En la parte superior se abre un rosetón, mientras que los muros laterales se articulan mediante contrafuertes y dos portadas formadas por arcos de medio punto, destacando el tímpano de la portada norte donde se representa el Agnus Dei. |
