Description

A Ilha da Pintada é uma das ilhas brasileiras integrantes do Parque Estadual Delta do Jacuí e faz parte da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre. A sua população descende de imigrantes açorianos, que deixou traços na cultura local e pode ser sentida nas lendas e nas crenças dos atuais ilhéus. Atualmente, a pesca artesanal é o meio de subsistência da ilha. Um grupo artesãs, batizado de "Art'Escama", ganha a vida transformando escamas de peixes em verdadeiras obras de arte. Confeccionam brincos, anéis, broches e bijuterias em geral. Além disso, o material é aplicado em echarpes, chales, mantôs, camisetas e vestidos. O trabalho das artesãs não contribui apenas para aumentar a renda das famílias envolvidas na atividade, é também um incentivo cultural.

A Ilha da Pintada se destaca por suas ruas arborizadas, com lindas árvores cobrindo sua entrada principal. É a ilha mais populosa do arquipélago e em grande fase de desenvolvimento.
