Description
English: Adi-puraṇa is a 9th century Sanskrit poem composed by Jinasena, a Digambara monk, praising the life of Rishabhanatha, the first Tirthankara of Jainism. This illustrated folio from Adi-purana is a Gouache painting on paper from Western India, ca. 16th century C.E. It is exhibited in the Paintings Gallery of Indian Museum, Kolkata. (Acc No. R. 15021)
