- a wavy line traces a path from the foothills to the centre of the globe
- Weltmeer(Seven Seas) at 8 o'clock,
- Ebro(Ebro River) (Abendland) (en:Occident) at 9 o'clock,
- Mittelmeer(Mediterranean Sea) at 10 o'clock, with Florenz at the outer rim of the cone labeledDie Hölle(Hell).
Sketch 5 depicts the same cross-section flipped along a horizontal axis. Clockwise from the top:
- the arrows from sketch 4 are now curving clockwise, with the rising sun on the left and the setting sun on the right
- Der Berg der Läuterung(Purgatory Mountain) now appears truly aboveDer Vorberg(the foothills) and a wavy line traces a short path upwards from the top of the mountain
