Ency., Vol. 3, p. 748.) PRATT, Parley P., was the firstpresident of the Canadian Mission,who practically opened the mission forpermanent missionary work in 1836.There have been Saints in Canadasince 1832, but the small branchesraised up in the Dominion of Canadabelonged to missions in the UnitedStates until 1920. McRAE, Joseph A., president ofthe Colorado Mission from 1901 to1907, was born March 19, 1865, inSalt Lake City, Utah, the son of Jos.McRae and Maria Taylor. He wasbaptized in 1873, and set apart fora mission to Colorado March 19, 1899.He was made president of the Mis-sion March 7, 1901, and acted in thatcapacity until his release in 1907.
