Summary[edit]

Description
English: An incorrect town sign of Oestrich. Note that the last row (denoting the Landkreis) reads Rhein-Taunus-Kreis, yet the actual name of the district is Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis. Note that the fictional naming scheme used on the sign is not uncommon in Hesse: A Main-Taunus-Kreis does indeed exist and follows the same River-Mountain range system. Conversely, the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis is the result of the fusion of the Rheingaukreis and the Untertaunuskreis and is therefore only indirectly named for the river.
