Description

Day 5:

camp near Karzok. Elevation approx 4550m

The final leg of the journey on Day 5, most groups will push on through the wide plain into the narrow river valley closer to the lake so as to make pick-up tomorrow easier. We all commented that the windy valley seemed longer than it should, always another bend away, but camping on its lush green shores near the lake (and close enough for afternoon ventures into Karzok village) makes the extra steps worth it.

You don't actually camp in Karzok village itself on the shore of the lake as that is not allowed.

This is the end of the trek. Day 6 is a long ride back by jeep to Leh following the Indus River valley.
