English: A portrait of British author, Indra Sinha, in his garden at his house in southwest France. Sinha has written three novels, The Cybergypsies (1999), The Death of Mr Love (2002) and Animal's People (2007) (this last was shortlisted for the 2007 Man Booker Prize and is based on the aftermath of the Bhopal disaster). Formerly a leading advertising copywriter, Sinha has also translated the Kama Sutra (1980) and written books on Tantra (1993). He has done an immense amount of campaigning work for charities, including the victims of the Bhopal disaster, the Refugee Council, Amnesty International and others. |
