Indradah, a religious place located in Chandragiri Municipality Ward No. 1 of Kathmandu District. There is a legend that in the Satya Yuga, the king of heaven, Indra came and tied the elephant to a golden necklace and bathed in Indradah.

English: Indradah, a religious place located in Chandragiri Municipality Ward No. 1 of Kathmandu District. There is a legend that in the Satya Yuga, the king of heaven, Indra came and tied the elephant to a golden necklace and bathed in Indradah. Dahchowk is located 5 km northwest of Kalanki in Indradah Kathmandu, which is considered to be a very attractive place from the point of view of beauty due to its natural resources. There are many places of mythological, historical and cultural importance in this region. The shrine of Kazi Kalu Pandey and the now very popular Switzerland Park is close to Indradah, a religious place. The religious place Indradah is located in the midst of greenery and forest. In the middle of the religious Indradah in the central part, Melo is buried according to tradition. The rock on the west-south side of this daha is called Vasuki Nag, and there are also 7 small copper snakes below. A large serpent can be seen at the top.

The east-west length of this religious dah is 42 feet and the north-south width is 36 feet. During the Jatra here, a canopy is erected on the Daham. On the east side there is a temple of Indrayani deity where there are also stone idols of Surya, Bhairava, Durga. There is also an idol of Ganesha on the wall. On the north side there are temples with stone idols of Indra and Indrayani riding an elephant. A religious fair is also held in this Indradah Tirtha on the day of Bhadra Shukla Poonirma. On that day, devotees from different places come to bathe in this daha. On that day, after bathing in this daha, the devotees offer worship to Ganesh, Devi, Bhairavi, Indra, Indrayi, and Vasuki. According to popular belief, it is said that if you bathe in the water of the king of heaven, you will live a good life and get rid of sins and sufferings. According to the legend about this Indradah, when Indra cheated and took many forms to rob other women's chastity, Gautama Srishi cursed Indra that his vagina would die full of body when he killed his wife Ahilya. To get rid of this, it is said that if you bathe in this Indradah on the day of Bhadra Shukla Poonirma, you will be freed from the curse. The locals perform prayers at this religious place on the days of Ekadashi, Dussehra, Aunshi, Poonirma, and Sankranti.

According to legend, there is also a popular belief that when it does not rain, if you come to this temple and ask for water, it will rain. There are various sattals, small monasteries and temples in this Indradah complex. This place is at an altitude of 7775 feet above sea level.
