Armida Quartett & Quatuor Modigliani - Mozart, Brahms, Mendelssohn Nederlands: Twee dynamische strijkkwartetten brengen samen een programma met absolute meesterwerken uit de kamermuziek. Mozarts Strijkkwintet in g wordt gerekend tot het allerbeste wat hij ooit schreef. Mozart koos niet voor de bezetting met twee cello’s (zoals Schubert en Boccherini al deden) maar voor twee altviolen. Wat meer rijkdom en warmte in de binnenstemmen oplevert. Van strijkkwintet gaat het naar strijksextet. Johannes Brahms waagde zich als een van de eersten aan het genre. Dankzij het erg lyrische karakter en de aanstekelijke dansritmes is Brahms’ Eerste Strijksextet een van zijn meest geliefde werken. Nóg symfonischer wordt het met het Octet van Mendelssohn. Stralend en magistraal, levendig en fantasierijk, met een Scherzo vol positieve energie. Uw avond kan nu al niet meer stuk.Cellist Julian Steckel vervangt Peter-Philipp Staemmler, cellist van het Armida Quartett. Français : Deux quatuors à cordes dynamiques présentent ensemble un programme de chefs-d'œuvre absolus de la musique de chambre. Le Quatuor à cordes en sol mineur de Mozart est considéré comme l'une de ses meilleures compositions. Mozart n'opta pas pour une interprétation à deux violoncelles (comme l'avaient fait Schubert et Boccherini), mais à deux altos, ce qui installe davantage de richesse et de chaleur dans les voix intérieures. Lorsque le quintette à cordes a cédé la place au sextuor à cordes, Johannes Brahms fut l'un des premiers à s'y essayer. Par son grand lyrisme et les rythmes de danse entraînants, le Sextuor n° 1 à cordes de Brahms est l'une de ses œuvres les plus appréciées. Une œuvre plus symphonique encore est l'Octuor de Mendelssohn, brillant et magistral, vivant et plein de fantaisie, avec un Scherzo plein d'énergie positive.
