Nederlands: Voor deze BL!NDMAN [hybrid] gaat saxofonist Eric Sleichim samen met vocale duizendpoot Claron McFadden, turntable wizard Matthew Wright en cellist Jörg Brinkmann aan de slag met materiaal uit het Russisch futurisme, dat focust op de literatuur. Het woord wordt, los van zijn betekenis, een object dat louter omwille van de klank bestaat. Teksten van Majakovski, Kamenski en Pasternak worden gezongen, gereciteerd en geroepen, geprojecteerd en gemanipuleerd. Het kwartet improviseert, geïnspireerd door futuristische componisten en directe nakomelingen als Stravinsky, Antheil en Prokofjev. De machine is de instrumentale inspiratiebron. Mechaniek, beweging en snelheid worden vertaald door theremins, speakers, turntables en pure sinustonen. Bastuba en contrabassaxofoon verklanken de diepe gorgelklanken van geluidsmachines.

La parole, dissociée de son sens, devient un objet qui existe purement pour sa sonorité. Des textes de Maïakovski, Kamenski et Pasternak sont chantés, récités et hurlés, projetés et manipulés. Le quatuor improvise, inspiré par des compositeurs futuristes tels que Stravinski, Antheil et Prokofiev. La machine est la source d'inspiration instrumentale. La mécanique, le mouvement et la vitesse sont évoqués par des thérémines, des haut-parleurs, des platines et des sons purs. Le tuba basse et le saxophone contrebasse rendent les borborygmes graves des machines sonores.
English: For this BL!NDMAN [hybrid] session, the saxophonist Eric Sleichim is working on material derived from Russian Futurism, focusing on literature, with the versatile vocalist Claron McFadden, turntable wizard Matthew Wright and cellist Jörg Brinkmann. Separated from their meaning, words become objects that exist purely for their sound. Writings by Mayakovsky, Kamensky and Pasternak are sung, recited and shouted, projected and manipulated. The quartet improvises, inspired by such futurist composers as Stravinsky, Antheil and Prokofiev. The machine is the source of inspiration for the instruments. Mechanisms, movement and speed are translated by theremins, loudspeakers, turntables and pure sinus tones. A bass tuba and double bass saxophone provide the deep gurgling effect of sound machines.
