Samuel Hasselhorn & Takako Miyazaki Nederlands: Bij onze speurtocht naar jong, uitzonderlijk talent op het vlak van het lied laten we ons graag adviseren door de grote liedpianist Irwin Gage. Hoewel hij zich uit het concertleven heeft teruggetrokken, is hij nog steeds zeer actief als pedagoog en als jurylid in tal van internationale wedstrijden. Hij is dus uitstekend geplaatst om aanstormend talent te spotten en ons hierover verslag uit te brengen. Gage is tevens de drijvende kracht achter de ‘Schubert Liedwettbewerb’ in Dortmund. Overduidelijke winnaars van de editie 2013 waren de Duitse bariton Samuel Hasselhorn en pianiste Takako Miyazaki. Uiteraard mag Schubert dan ook niet ontbreken tijdens hun debuutrecital in deSingel. En van Schumanns ‘Dichterliebe’ krijgen we ook nooit genoeg. De cyclus op teksten van Heinrich Heine belicht de liefde in al haar facetten. Voor de uitvoerders een uitdaging om niet alleen de ontluikende liefde en het ‘sehnende Verlangen’ maar ook de bittere ontgoochelingen en de sarcastische verwerking ervan overtuigend over te brengen. Français : Pour notre quête de jeunes talents exceptionnels dans le domaine du lied, nous aimons nous faire conseiller par le grand pianiste du lied Irwin Gage. Même s'il a mis un terme à sa carrière de concertiste, il reste très actif en tant que pédagogue et comme membre du jury de nombreux concours internationaux. Il est donc parfaitement placé pour repérer les talents qui montent et pour nous les faire connaître. Gage est par ailleurs le moteur du concours « Schubert Liedwettbewerb » à Dortmund. L'édition 2013 a été remportée avec une longueur d'avance par le baryton allemand Samuel Hasselhorn et la pianiste Takako Miyazaki. Schubert ne saurait donc être absent du programme de leur tout premier récital à deSingel. « Dichterliebe » de Schumann est une autre œuvre dont nous ne nous lassons jamais. Ce cycle sur des textes de Heinrich Heine examine l'amour sous toutes ses facettes. Les interprètes sont mis au défi d'exprimer d'une manière convaincante l'amour naissant et le « sehnende Verlangen » ou désir brûlant, mais aussi l'amère déception et les sarcasmes qui aident à surmonter la rupture. English: In our hunt for exceptional young talent in Lieder singing we like to take advice from the great Lieder pianist Irwin Gage. Although he has retired from giving concerts, he is still occupied as a teacher and a member of juries in many international competitions. So he is in an excellent position to spot up-and-coming talent and to report back to us on it. Gage is also the driving force behind the ‘Schubert Liedwettbewerb’ in Dortmund. The outright winners in 2013 were the German baritone Samuel Hasselhorn and pianist Takako Miyazaki. So of course Schubert must also be included in their debut recital at deSingel. And we can never have enough of Schumann’s ‘Dichterliebe’ either. This cycle, with words by Heinrich Heine, sheds light on every aspect of love. For the performers it is a challenge to convincingly portray not only burgeoning love and the ‘sehnende Verlangen’, but also the bitter disappointments and their sarcastic treatment. |
