Summary[edit]

Description
English: Nearly 160 youngsters spent April 23, 2015, at the National Science Foundation where they participated in the agency’s Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. The morning program included talks about the importance of science and NSF’s role, robotics and patterns in nature. One of the highlights was a live chat with personnel at Palmer Station in Antarctica. The afternoon was devoted to hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) educational activities. This year’s event was co-chaired by Noreen Hecmanczuk (formerly of the Office Information and Resource Management), Cecile Gonzalez (Directorate for Engineering), and David Campbell (Directorate for Education and Human Resources), and they worked with many volunteers throughout NSF who contributed their time and creativity. Tiva IT Solutions Pictured above are Hecmanczuk (standing, far left), Ana Chiacu, Julie Speers, Bill Marchese and Barbara Jackson. Visit NSF’s Multimedia Gallery for science images, and for video.
