English: The Borobudur Temple, approximately 115 x 115 metres at its base rising some 23 metres, excluding the terminal stupa, was built around 1100 years ago. It is facing destruction through gradual disintegration. Upon request of the Indonesian Government, UNESCO has sent experts to advise on the restoration and conservation of this important monument and on 12 October 1972, the UNESCO Executive Board authorized the Director-General to sign an agreement with the Indonesian Government for the preservation of this temple. Crumbling walls on the first terrace.
Français : Le temple de Boroboudour (env. 115 x 115 m.
