DescriptionInuit kayaks on permanent display at the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver, Canada.jpg |
These 2 pairs of Inuit kayaks are today on permanent display at the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver, Canada. The lower kayak was created from sealskins and designed for use on the seawaters of Northern Baffin Island. Its broad beam provides stability. The upper kayak was made from caribou skins and designed for use on lakes and rivers. Its narrow beam makes it fast and maneuverable for hunting caribou. |
