Description
Deutsch: Von einem Hügel (Vijlenerbos) aus blickt man auf das feuchte Tal der Göhl (Geul) in den südlichen Niederlanden.
Ein Hochdruckwetter und kalte Nächte erzeugten hier eine klassische Inversionswetterlage: oben blauer Himmel und unten stabil bis in den Abend sehr dichter und kalter Nebel.
Etwa 3 Minuten Fahrt mit dem Fahrrad bergab führten in den Nebel: die Sichtweite lag dann bei unter 100 Metern und die Sonne oder der blaue Himmel waren nicht mehr sichtbar.
Innerhalb des Nebels war es eiskalt und dauerhaft feucht. Der Boden war aber nicht gefroren. Der Nebel erstreckte sich weitflächig bis in das angrenzende Belgien, mindestens bis hin nach Gemmenich am Vaalserberg.
