Ira Lowe Sued By His Wife. She Declares that He Wickedly Deceived Her into Conveying to Him a Half Interest in Her Property. Mrs. Ira Lowe says she was wickedly deceived by husband. She declares that he married her for her money. The husband is a merchant tailor, and the couple formerly lived at 1,150 Second Avenue. Mrs. Lowe was the widow of George Rothgeiser when Mr. Lowe married her on August 31, 1894. She has nine children by her first marriage, six of whom are infants. At the time of her second marriage Mrs. Lowe was the owner of the Second Avenue house in which she lives, as well as a house at 365 Bushwick Avenue, Brooklyn. She is now suing to compel her husband to deed back to her a half interest in the property, which she made over to him. In the papers she has filed in the Supreme Court Mrs. Lowe says that from the time that Mr. Lowe promised to marry her July 9, 1894 to the time of the ceremony, and for some time subsequent, she confided in him, and he "possessed a powerful influence and control" over her. Through trick and device, with intent to deprive her of a half interest in both pieces of property he would support and protect all of her infant children and would care for them as if his own. With this understanding she made the conveyance of one-half of the property, the consideration named being $1. She says that her husband has not fulfilled the promises and and representations which be made to her before the conveyance was made, and has failed to provide for, or protect, or support her infant children or to perform his duties of a father toward them. He has abandoned both her and the children, she declares, and has refused to give back to her the half interest in the property which he holds. She therefore brings an equity action and asks the Court to compel him to reconvey the interest to her and to discharge the conveyance.
