דוברות בית הנשיא: נשיא המדינה יצחק הרצוג נשא דברים ביום רביעי, ה' באב, 14 ביולי 2021, בטקס סיום קורס המכללה לביטחון לאומי במחנה דיין בגלילות. עוד נשאו דברים ראש הממשלה נפתלי בנט, שר הביטחון בני גנץ והרמטכ"ל רב-אלוף אביב כוכבי.

"בשבוע האחרון, כששואלים אותי מה שלומי, אני עונה במילותיו של חיים גורי: "שלומי כשלום עמי",״ אמר הנשיא והוסיף: ״כמוני כמוכם, כולנו בצבא העם, כולנו משרתים את אותו העם, כולנו משרתים את אותה המדינה, שעתידה, בטחונה ושגשוגה הם עבורנו מטרה וחזון. אני שמח להיות כאן, לראות אתכם בוגרי הקורס הפיקודי הבכיר בצה"ל, צבא העם, זו תחושת גאווה עצומה״. עוד אמר הנשיא: "כאשר נבחרתי, קיבלתי על עצמי, למלא יום יום את "צידת האחדות", הערבות ההדדית והזהות המשותפת שלנו. היום אני רוצה למלא את מנת הצידה היומית הזו בעזרתכם ואיתכם; הקצינות והקצינים, האזרחיות והאזרחים, מנהיגי העתיד של החברה הישראלית״.

״הרוח העשויה ללא חת, זו הרוח עליה אני מבקש לדבר איתכם היום. רוח האחדות, הלכידות, הערבות ההדדית והערכים המשותפים. רוח האמונה בצדקת דרכנו. רוח האמונה בצדקת משימת ההגנה על מדינת ישראל. זאת הרוח הנדרשת מאיתנו היום מול האתגרים הביטחוניים, מול האתגרים החברתיים, ומול רוחות רעוֹת אחרות, של קיטוב, של פלגנות, של ניכור ושל שיסוי״. הנשיא פנה למסיימי הקורס ופנה אישית לאחד המסיימים, אל״מ שי סימן טוב ואמר: ״התרשמתי עמוקות, מכלל העשייה של כל אחד ואחת מכם. אבל בוודאי לא תתפלאו, אם אסגיר כי במיוחד מרגש אותי אל"מ שי סימן טוב. שי, אני יודע שלא תאהב את זה – אתה, עם דניאלה היקרה, רעייתך, מקור השראה ועוצמה עבור כולנו. אתה דוגמא ומופת לכל לוחמי ופצועי צה"ל״.

"צה"ל - צבא העם, הוא מהגופים המובילים היום ביצירת ישראליות משותפת, משתפת ומשתתפת. ישראליות ששומרת על הזהות הייחודית של כל מגזר ומגזר בחברה הישראלית אך בה בעת מאפשרת ויוצרת היכרות מפגש קשר עשייה ושיתופי פעולה בין המגזרים השונים״, הדגיש הנשיא בסוף דבריו.
