Summary

[edit]
Description

building nests for a swallow! Captured this swallow after it had come up from collecting mud and grass from the Turitea river before it moved off to work on it's nest under the Old West Road bridge over this river. Both of the pair were working diligently on this task. According to nzbirdsonline, nests take 6-24 days to build, and are often re-used within and between breeding seasons.

This is almost a 100% crop, as the bird was almost out of range of the 300mm lens.
