Context as given in the above cited source: "At Shimanokoshi in Tanohata Village, a bridge and Shimanokoshi Station of the Sanriku Railway were completely destroyed by the tsunami, and all the houses were swept away or leveled except for two that were located on a hill (Fig. 4). A runup height of 19.9 m was measured at the northern slope near the dai-ni (second) Shimanokoshi Tunnel (I41). A large amount of wood building materials and debris was deposited throughout the tunnel. The runup height of 22.0 m was measured at the front yard of one of the surviving houses (I42)."
