English: It is a tick of the genus Ixodes, it is classified as a hard tick. There are two large families of ticks, hard and soft. Here are some fun facts about the hard tick shown in the first image.
• This is characterized by having an anterior anal groove, a long face and a very characteristic bicolor armor. • Ticks are classified as arthropods in the arachnid family (they have 8 legs). • They are considered dangerous arthropods, since they have the ability to quickly transmit some diseases such as babesiosis (It is a pathology caused by an intracellular parasite, this parasite enters the red blood cell where it develops and subsequently causes the rupture of the red blood cell to exit to the bloodstream and continue the infectious cycle / causes hemolytic anemias and allergic reactions in people and animals – it is a pathology that is difficult to diagnose, since laboratory tests are ineffective). • In Colombia, approximately 11 species of this tick have been recorded, which is of human and veterinary clinical importance. • Ticks can parasitize any animal, regardless of whether they are warm-blooded (mammals) or cold-blooded (reptiles).Español: Es una garrapata del genero Ixodes, se clasifica como una garrapata dura. Hay dos grandes familias de garrapatas, duras y blandas. Estos son algunos datos curiosos de la garrapata dura mostrada en la primera imagen.
• Esta se caracteriza por tener un surco anal anterior, rostro largo y una armadura bicolor muy característica. • Las garrapatas se clasifican dentro de los artrópodos en la familia de los arácnidos (tiene 8 patas). • Se consideran artrópodos peligrosos, ya que, tienen la capacidad de transmitir rápidamente algunas enfermedades como la babesiosis (Es una patología causada por un parasito intracelular, este parasito ingresa al glóbulo rojo donde se desarrolla y posteriormente causa la ruptura del glóbulo rojo para salir al torrente sanguíneo y seguir el ciclo infeccioso/ causa anemias hemolíticas y reacciones alérgicas en personas y animales – es una patología difícil de diagnosticar, ya que, las pruebas de laboratorio son poco efectivas). • En Colombia se han registrado aproximadamente 11 especies de esta garrapata que es de importancia clínica humana y veterinaria • Las garrapatas pueden parasitar cualquier animal, sin importar si son de sangre caliente (mamíferos) o fría (reptiles). |
