Description
This barque had something of an international career, being built in Vesack by H. F. Ulricks in 1859 for Adolph Jacob Hertz of Hamburg, and named Norma. In 1880 she was bought by a Danish partnership, led by N. C. Aistrup of Frederikshavn, and she got the name Maria Aistrup. Her first master in Denmark was A. I. W. Mayell of Copenhagen. Aistrup gradually sold his shares and when he sold his last 1/8 in 1885, the new majority owner, K. J. Møller of Brønderslev had her name changed to Emil. The Emil was sold around 1893-94 to P. Petré of Oscarshamn, Sweden. Wrecked in 1908. Sources: mfs.dk (page 4) & mfs.dk (page 91) (in Danish).
