Description
English: Supplement page dated February 1945 added to J.A.N. No. 1 UNIFORMS AND INSIGNIA, a publication prepared by the Military Intelligence Service and the Division of Naval Intelligence of the US War Departement as a recognition field manual for the American fighting forces during World War II:
  • Illustration plate/chart in colour showing uniforms and insignia of Hellenic Navy (HN; Greek: Πολεμικό Ναυτικό, Polemikó Naftikó, ΠΝ) the naval force of Greece, during the Second World War:
  • GREEK NAVY – OFFICERS AND MEN
  • LIEUTENANT, LINE (Blue service uniform. Blue cap cover permitted)
UNIFORMS FOR COMMISSIONED AND WARRANT OFFICERS In addition to the blue (illustrated at left), white, and khaki-all of which are similar to same U.S.N. uniforms there is a heavy weight khaki winter uniform, similar in cut to the regular khaki but with khaki colored sleeve stripes instead of shoulder boards.
  • SEAMAN 1st CLASS, MACHINIST Diapos, Mikhanikos (Blue dress. Blue cap cover permitted)
UNIFORMS FOR PETTY OFFICERS AND SEAMEN Petty Officers wear blue, white, and khaki uni forms like those worn by British CPO and PO. These consist of jackets and trousers with officer- type cap and the insignia illustrated above. Seamen wear the same blue (illustrated at right). white, and work jumper type uniforms as the British Seamen

The cumulative military manual was a Joint Army and Navy ("JAN") publication illustrating uniforms and insignia of the navies, armies and air forces of several countries. The collection of plates was published as a US Government unclassified public document 1943-44 in the format of a pocket-sized loose-leaf string-tied binder allowing for later additional pages and corrections. Today the manual is in the public domain without any known copyright restrictions.
